RC-412 Carbon
The carbon used for the Rhino Filter, RC-412 active carbon, is mined in Western Australia and is of a unique quality that only occurs in Australia. After mining, the carbon is formed into active carbon in a special process. During this process and due to the unique density of the carbon, the pores are formed which are necessary for the absorption of unwanted odors.
Other factors are the surface area, the grain size of the carbon and the depth of the carbon bed. These factors guarantee a long life expectancy. This life depends on the speed of air flow, the amount of impurities in the air and climatic conditions. Taking these variables into account, Rhino gives their filters a life expectancy of three years.
