The Milwaukee MA871 Refractometer allows you to measure the sugar content of sap from leaves. The sugars in plant sap often also contain other substances such as minerals and small amounts of metals. The measurement can therefore also be used to give an indication of the total dissolved substances, and therefore the overall health of the plant.
Milwaukee's BRIX digital refractometer is temperature compensated with a BRIX range of 0 to 85 percent and an accuracy of +/- 0.2 percent. It is easy to use with simple two-button operation and fast with a response time of less than 2 seconds. On the two-line LCD display you can read the brix value and the temperature.
Maintenance is also a breeze with the easy to clean prism of sealed flint glass and the stainless steel housing.
The MA871 has an automatic calibration function. For testing the liquid to be tested. Calibrate the MA871 by simply putting a drop of deionized or demiralized water into it. Now place a few drops of the test liquid into the MA871 and press "READ", within a few seconds you can now read the Brix percentage on the LCD screen.
