Grow lights and Electrics ~ Growing lights and accessories

Why do you need a Grow light and Electrics?

EUGardencenter has a wide range of grow lights and electrics to get the most out of your hobby growing. A grow light is needed to mimic sunlight, in a grow tent or grow room is naturally dark without any grow lights, without grow lights nothing will grow. So sunlight or a grow light is very important, otherwise your crop cannot start a photosynthesis process. Photosynthesis means that your plant converts CO2 into glucose, with which the plant can provide itself with energy, without energy your crop will not grow.

Grow Light

What kind of grow light should you go for?

The choice for the type of grow light is entirely up to you, there are different types of grow lights available. The price ranges differ enormously in the grow lights, this is partly due to the different types there are.

HPS

HPS or "High Pressure Sodium" is seen as the traditional grow light, HPS lighting consists of a number of parts. A bulb, a ballast, a reflector and of course all the necessary cables to connect everything.

LED

LED grow lights have been further developed in recent years, previously the LED grow light was not often used, but nowadays this is different. LED grow lights are now also increasingly used in professional horticulture, if they are going to use it more then it must be good. An LED grow light uses much less power in comparison to an HPS grow light while the amount of light it produces is not inferior. An additional advantage is that an LED lamp generates almost no heat, which is a different story with HPS.

CMH

A CMH grow light is almost the same as a Metal Halide (MH) light, they are both gas discharge lamps only with MH they use quartz and with CMH a ceramic tube. CMH or Ceramic Metal Halide can also be called CDM which stands for Ceramic Discharge Metal Halide. A CMH grow light is almost as efficient as an HPS lamp, the spectrum is different and CMH generally lasts longer. As with HPS lighting, you will need the peripherals to run your lamp.

CFL

A CFL grow lamp can also be called a cutting lamp, these lamps are mainly used when growing seedlings and cuttings. A CFL lamp lights up through a fluorescent layer under the influence of ultraviolet rays generated by gas discharge inside the lamp. These grow lamps can also be called fluorescent or energy saving lamps.

Electrics and grow light accessories

There is more to it than just a grow light in a grow room, everything must of course also be properly connected. This is often done by means of electric cables or UTP cables. You should not forget that a plant likes to live in a constant cycle, to set this you need a timer, some controllers for your grow lights include a timer. A grow light must also be hung, you can easily do this with suspension elements. With a grow light you also need to protect your eyes, we offer protective glasses for this purpose.
