If you are looking for a simple and practical way to water your pots or window boxes, the Tropf Blumat is for you. This handy humidity sensor is specially designed for shallow planters with a maximum depth of 25 cm and a diameter of up to 25 cm. For larger containers, you can use multiple sensors or distributor drippers. Please note that the Tropf Blumat comes and T-piece of 8-3-8 mm. You need to order these separately.
But how does it work exactly?
The Tropf Blumat without irrigation tube contains water and continuously measures the moisture content in the root ball. When the root ball starts to dry out, the membrane at the top of the sensor opens automatically and water is supplied until the desired moisture level is reached again. This way you never have to worry about over or under watering your plants.
This handy watering sensor can be easily connected to a water tank or directly to the water line using a pressure reducing valve. This allows you to precisely control the water supply and adjust it to the needs of your plants.
Another advantage of the Tropf Blumat is that you can adjust the length of the drip hose yourself. With a maximum length of 150 cm, you can easily determine the right distance between the sensor and the plant. This gives you optimal control over watering.
Standard vs Maxi
The Standard Tropf Blumat and the Tropf Blumat Maxi are both irrigation systems designed to regulate the moisture levels of plant potting soil. The main difference between the two systems lies in their use for different pot sizes. The Standard Blumat is suitable for pots or planters no deeper than 25 cm and up to 25 cm in diameter. In contrast, the Blumat Maxi is designed for larger, deeper pots that are deeper than 25 cm and up to a diameter of 25 cm. Both systems can be expanded with multiple sensors or divided drip boots for larger diameters. They can also both come without a drip hose or with an included drip hose of varying lengths, depending on the specific product model.
