G-tools - Kitchenfarm Grow Box ~ Leafygreens & Microgreens
With the G-tools Kitchenfarm Grow Box you have a grow box specifically designed for growing leafygreens and microgreens. This allows you to grow your own herbs, garnishes or salad in any location. This grow cabinet is ideal for restaurants, schools or corporate canteens that enjoy cooking with fresh and homegrown produce.
Easy to use and maintain
The G-tools Kitchenfarm Grow Box consists of two floors as standard, both floors are equipped with energy efficient LED grow lights. Both the kitchenfarm S and the kitchenfarm XL can be expanded with a third floor.
The bottom of the kitchenfarm is a closed space containing the water tank and pump, from which feed water is pumped periodically into the special ebb & flow trays. In these ebb & flow trays you grow your product, this can be done on growing mats or on pots with soil. The ebb & flow trays are equipped with drainage channels, so the excess water will flow away again. This way your crop will never have 'wet feet', as your crop cannot stand this and in the worst case your crop will die.
The G-tools Kitchenfarm Grow Box is controlled by the G-tools Smartbox, this is a timer which controls your lamps and water pump at the set times. You can set the number of watering times and exposure times via a free downloadable app. All you have to do in this kitchenfarm system besides seeding and harvesting is to keep the water tank below filled.
What are Microgreens?
Microgreens are germinated vegetable seeds, these have just passed the germination phase and already have a few leaves in the typical color of the respective vegetable. Microgreens are super healthy, decorative and provide a true taste explosion in your mouth. Microgreens are delicious in salads, as a garnish or on sandwiches.
Growing these sprouts or microgreens is very easy, best done on growing mats that can be placed in special growing trays. Once the mats are placed in the nursery trays you can sprinkle the mats with a layer of germination seeds, after this all you have to do is place the nursery trays in one of the tiers and the rest goes by itself. After a few days you can harvest and consume the microgreens.
What are leafygreens?
Leafygreens is a collective name for salads, herbs and leafy greens. Most leafygreens can be easily grown in a pot of soil, you can choose to grow them from seed or continue to grow a plant from the store. The G-tools kitchenfarm provides your crop with the perfect habitat. Most leafygreens continue to grow after harvesting.
