Canna COGr Board ~ Coco Substrate
With a Canna COGr Board, you have a coconut substrate made from a refined blend of coconut grit, coconut fibers and coconut granules. Due to the coarse coconut structure, Canna COGr Board has the ability to absorb large amounts of nutrients, moisture and air. These substances are readily available to your crop. In addition, root development and yield are increased, with these reasons Canna also calls this medium superior. These slabs fit exactly into a one-meter grow tray.
Advantages
- Thanks to its coarse coir structure, the COGr Board has the unique property of being able to simultaneously absorb large amounts of nutrients, moisture and air, which are immediately available to the plant.
- This makes the medium superior to all other growing media and promotes faster root development and higher yields.
- COGr Boards are ideal for transportation. They come in dried and pressed form. In this form, they weigh only less than 2 kilograms.
Instructions for use
- CANNA COGr boards are delivered compressed and dry, making it easy to transport and store, see (1)
- To make it a suitable growing medium, the CANNA COGr boards must first be soaked and buffered with a specially developed CANNA COGr Buffer Agent. The boards will swell from 3 liters to 17 liters, see (2)
- Dilute the CANNA COGr Buffer Agent with water in the ratio 1:500 and adjust the pH to 5.5-5.8
- Add 12.5 liters of diluted buffer liquid per CANNA COGr board, e.g. with a watering can or hose, see (3)
- Make drain cuts before or after administering CANNA COGr Buffer Agent, depending on your system, see (4)
- Allow the CANNA COGr board with the CANNA COGr Buffer Agent to rest and buffer for 24 hours. Drain excess moisture from the mat and apply the planting holes, see (5)
- CANNA COGr board is now ready to be planted, see (1)
- Once the cuttings are standing it is recommended to use CANNA RHIZOTONIC. CANNA RHIZOTONIC stimulates root growth and root penetration of the substrate. Plants strike faster, resulting in a more productive plant. CANNA RHIZOTONIC can be administered via foliar spray, with a watering can or with the drip system, see (2)
- Start with CANNA COGr Vega with an EC of 1.5 mS/cm2. PH 5.5-5.8, see (3)
- When the plants are well rooted, increase the EC to a dosage of 1:250 Recommended EC: 1.8-2.4 mS/cm2, depending on the quality and EC of the water
- Use CANNA COGr Vega up to and including the first 2-3 weeks of the flowering period (12 hours of light/dark). The moment growth stagnates and flower formation begins, it is time to switch to CANNA COGr Flores (dilution 1:250; EC 1.8-2.7 mS/cm2; pH 5.5-5.8), see (1)
- During flowering, the plant needs more phosphate and potassium. This need can be met by administering CANNA PK 13/14 4 weeks before harvest, for one week. Result: Larger and tastier fruits, see (2)
- Stop adding CANNA COGr Flores one week before harvest.
- Give the last week only water and CANNAZYM
Can you reuse COGr Boards?
CANNA COGr board can be reused 3 times without loss of quality due to its solid structure.
- Harvest the plant and remove the above-ground plant residues, see (1)
- Flush the COGr granulate thoroughly with a double dose of CANNAZYM, and let it rest for 24 hours, see (2)
- CANNA COGr Buffer Agent is now no longer needed, you can start planting again immediately, see (3)
Watering
Guideline watering for mature plants is 4-6 liters /m2 per day. Recommended number of drips is 1 to 3 times per day. Preferably drip only during the day when the lights are on. Ensure adequate drainage (10-20%). With salty tap water (EC >0.6 mS/cm2) more drainage is required to prevent salt build-up.
- When growing in plant containers with a lockable drainage system, it is easier to start with drain cuts, turn the COGr over and then fill the plant container with buffer solution.
Tips for using COGr Boards.
Starting second week after plants are on COGr, it is recommended to give CANNAZYM with the nutrient. CANNAZYM breaks down dead roots, provides more air in the bib, prevents plant diseases, stimulates micro life in the soil and makes extra nutrients available to the roots. CANNAZYM can be given continuously with the nutrition (dilution 1:400) or once a week (dilution 1:100). CANNAZYM also allows for better reuse of COGr.
