Milwaukee CD611 - Digital conductivity pen (EC)
DIGITAL. SIMPLE. COMPACT.
Milwaukee's EC Pen is designed for hydroponic and other growers to help you make sure your plants are getting the right amount of nutrients. Keep the EC within your target range to get better results.
The CD611 is an entry level conductivity meter for the hobby grower. The CD611 tester has a simple and fast 1 point manual calibration, automatic temperature compensation and a range of 0 to 20000 µS/cm.
The CD611 is an EC (conductivity) tester specially designed for water analysis. The CD611 EC meter is supplied in a plastic storage box, with protective cap, calibration screwdriver, batteries and manual.
DESIGN FEATURES
- Measures conductivity and temperature with automatic temperature compensation
- Ideal range for hydroponics (0 to 20,000 µS/cm)
- Units in µS/cm easily convertible to ppm
- Factory calibrated with the ability to recalibrate if needed
- 350 hours of continuous use (3 x 1.5V batteries included)
USE AND MAINTENANCE
EC electrodes can begin to release nutrients over time. Rinse the probe with fresh tap water after each use to prevent build-up.
EC TO TDS CONVERSION
The Milwaukee EC pen, like all conductivity meters, provides a measurement of electrically charged ions in a solution and is an absolute measurement of conductivity.
EC is often converted to TDS in parts per million (ppm). There are several scales, such as the 500 scale, the 650 scale, and the 700 scale. However, the true PPM can only be determined by chemical analysis.
Your mS/cm reading can be converted to TDS (ppm) by approximation:
2,000 µS/cm = 2.0 mS/cm = 1000 ppm on .50 factor scale
2.000 µS/cm = 2.0 mS/cm = 1400 ppm on 442 scale or .70 factor scale
