GROW CONTROLLER AUTOMATION SYSTEM | Starter kit + SoilBot
GroLab Soil is a powerful grow controller that not only controls basic lighting and climate for you, but also provides smart irrigation for your plants.
With SoilBot, GroLab is always aware of the humidity of your substrate and feeds your plants only when they really need it. A handy flood detector is also included to alert you to potential leaks or flooding.
What do I get with a GroLab Soil Kit?
The GroLab soil kit comes with:
Starter Kit: | GroNode | PowerBot
SoilBot |
It also includes a USB pen that contains the GroLab-software, instruction manuals and video tutorials.
GroLab Software is always under development. When a newer version is available, it will be updated automatically. The same happens for all included modules, this means that your GroLab Soil Kit will have access to all the improvements the GroLab development team will be making in the near future.
One GroNode can support up to 4 PowerBots, 4 TankBots, 4 SoilBots and 4 UserBots. You are free to divide them among 4 different rooms with two different grows each. Whenever you need a new grow, clone or bloom room, you can simply expand your GroLab system by adding the desired additional modules. |
What does the GroLab Soil Kit control? - Example configuration
The GroLab soil kit gives you precise control over your lights, and allows you to configure grow days from 18h/6h to 12h/12h with one click.
The temperature and moisture probe allows you to control ventilation, reducing the consumption of this device and optimizing the climate in your grow room.
Connecting two water pumps to the PowerBot allows you to control irrigation. With the GroLab software, schedules can be created to feed each culture type with extreme precision.
Thanks to the SoilBot, you can control the substrate (both soil and hydroponics), constantly monitor it and make any desired correction. For example, you can set an alarm that activates timed drip irrigation when soil moisture levels drop to a minimum value, or even use a device to heat or cool the soil based on the SoilBot's temperature sensor. In hydroponics, you can use the substrate's moisture sensor to alert you if the bed becomes too dry, meaning a pump could be broken.
It can not only warn, but also take action and stop the pump. The same thing happens when a flood or leak is detected. Notifications, selective shutdown, are just some of the procedures you can configure.
GroLab offers data-logging and data-storage, these functions ensure that all information about sensors/devices is collected and stored over time! Thanks to this and the data visualization functions, it is possible to do a detailed analysis of the life cycle of your plants, so you can maximize their growth and efficiency!
This is a schematic designed to show some of the capabilities of the GroLab Soil Kit, but you can rearrange the devices, or even replace them, with any other device you find useful, such as lights, foggers, fans, heaters, dehumidifiers, etc.
Since a single GroNode supports up to 4 modules of each type, if at any time you need to add more sensors or devices (for example, to control another grow room), you only need to add the desired additional modules to expand your control.
GroLab Software
The GroLab Software is the control cabin of the system. The main purpose of this software is to allow you to fully configure the entire system, by providing all the tools to customize the settings of modules and devices to the functionalities of each growing system.
Track the progress of your crop(s) through IP cameras and a variety of data inputs, with graphs, historical data and trends. All sensors/actuators data can be easily exported to a friendly file for external in-depth analysis. Using a third-party device capable of logging data in the cloud, the GroLab system can periodically upload data to that device. Thanks to the remote control feature, this easy-to-use software allows you to continue to control and monitor your grow(er) as if you were there.
